Collaboratively, Shannon Wherry & I produced the identity for an anatomical drawing competition. With the nature of the project, we understood the importance of not influencing entires, so we avoided direct reference to particular body parts & instead kept the look fairly neutral. To do this & still remain relevant to the subject matter, we used atoms as the core ornament to play with: everything in the universe is made of atoms. Distant from what is being asked of submissions, but an integral part of the subject matter. Layered over the top is abstracted custom type with forms that derive from cells. The type reads ‘anatomical’.
